A Law Credit is how ProPlaintiff tracks AI usage. Think of it as your electric meter, every time you turn on the lights, the electricity flows and runs up the meter. That is similar to how AI works. Every time you make an AI request, you are sending credits to the AI model, and the AI model is sending tokens back.

So your Law Credits are what you need to use AI features, such as, document drafting, medical summaries etc. You can still use your case management features without credits, but you will not be able to use the AI features.

But don’t worry, every subscription comes with default number of credits that should be sufficient to use our services. And if you are a power user, you can always purchase more. Finally, we track credit costs and usage so you can expense the cost to your client.

The essential plan comes with a 7 day free trial if you demo the product first. You are permitted one user and 2,000 Law Credits. During the trial period you will not be permitted to download documents but you can create them.

Law Credits are the currency for using the AI tools. Any time you summarize a document or media file credits will be deducted. Same goes for Demand Letters and Medical Chronologies. If you run out of credits, you can always purchase more at any time.

The amount of Law Credits used will depend on how many pages are uploaded to generate the demand. Generally, demand letters can take anywhere between 500 to 1,500 Law credits and the average we see across the platform is 800. For large demands with extensive medical histories, we've seen as high as 5,000.

Just like generating a demand letter, the amount of Law Credits used will depend on how many pages are uploaded to generate the medical chronology. Because health records can have extensive amounts of pages and text, they usually take between 500 to 2,500 Law credits. For large medical histories with 800+ pages, we've seen it take upwards of 5,000 Law Credits.

Yes. Our platform tracks AI usage and cost and links it to each client case file. This means that if you would like to recoup the costs spent using our AI tools, you can bill your clients.

You can view the cost for each case by going to Case Overview and downloading the case cost history.

If you are on a monthly subscription, you will receive a set number of complementary Law Credits each month. The higher your subscription the higher the number of default credits. Any unused default credits do not roll over. Instead, you will be replenished to the default total.

However, purchased Law Credits will roll over to the next month and are added to your default total. So for example, in month 1 you receive 2,000 default credits. You use all 2000 and purchase an additional 1,000 tokens and use 500 of them. Month 2, you receive your 2,000 default credits and your 500 purchased credits roll over for a total of 2,500 credits.
